Elan Electronics has been approved by the general manager to implement the environmental and energy management system. To ensure the effectiveness of the environmental and energy management system, we commit to perform relevant audits and reviews on a regular basis and invite external verification unit to conduct audits.

2025 waste reduction target:Elan Group's general waste generation in 2025 will be reduced by 1% compared to 2024.

The following Elan Group data are extracted from the ESG report, and the ESG report has been externally verified.

Elan has started to perform greenhouse gas inventory in 2023, and every year the data is verified by an external unit (certification agency: BSI) in accordance with the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard. The statement is as follows:

2022 ELAN ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Verification Opinion Statement

2023 ELAN ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Verification Opinion Statement

2024 ELAN ISO 14064-1 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Verification Opinion Statement

ELAN Group Passes Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Validation in October 2025

The ELAN Group—including ELAN MICROELECTRONICS CORP., PiXORD Corporation, Avisonic Technology Corp., ELAN (H.K.) MICROELECTRONICS CORP., ELAN MICROELECTRONICS CORP. SHANGHAI, LTD., and ELAN MICROELECTRONICS CORP. SHENZHEN, LTD.—has successfully received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Using 2023 as the base year, ELAN has committed to the following ambitious carbon reduction targets by 2030:

Scope 1 & Scope 2: Achieve a 42% reduction in GHG emissions compared to 2023 levels.

Scope 3: Achieve a 25% reduction in GHG emissions compared to 2023 levels, focusing on key categories such as Purchased Goods and Services, Processing of Sold Products, and Use of Sold Products.

To drive progress toward these targets, ELAN monitors performance through its Sustainability Development Committee. As electricity consumption represents the primary source of operational GHG emissions, the Company ensures the ongoing effectiveness of its ISO 50001 Energy Management System, enhances equipment energy efficiency, and steadily increases the use of renewable energy to systematically reduce carbon emissions across its operations.

For Scope 3 emissions, ELAN emphasizes collaboration with key suppliers and the development of high-efficiency products, reinforcing its commitment to carbon reduction while advancing corporate social responsibility.

Renewable energy use

In order to comply with the international carbon reduction trend and advocate the goal of RE100 (100% renewable electricity), The plan is as follows:

The company obtains 454 Renewable Energy Certificates in 2025, with a carbon reduction of approximately 215.196 tonneCO2e (calculated based on the 2025 electricity carbon emission coefficient); the purchase quota is expected to increase by at least 750 T-REC in 2026.

Greenhouse Gas Reduction

  • In 2025, the Company established the" Carbon Pricing Application Guidelines" and adopted a shadow carbon pricing approach. With reference to the Ministry of Environment’s "Carbon Fee Charging Regulations", the carbon fee is set at NT$300 per metric ton of CO₂e and is applied to the evaluation of energy-saving and carbon-reduction projects. In the same year, the Company implemented three energy-efficiency initiatives, achieving total electricity savings of approximately 54,000 kWh, equivalent to a reduction of 25.596 metric tons of CO₂e. In addition, based on the internal carbon pricing mechanism, the potential external carbon costs avoided through these emission reductions are estimated at NT$7,679.
  • Since 2014, the Hsinchu headquarters has replaced traditional lamps with LED lights, which are gradually replaced every year. The replacement will be completed in 2021. As of the end of 2021, it has saved 11.57% of electricity consumption.
  • Since 2021, the NB Business Unit has replaced T5 lamps with LED lights, which are gradually replaced every year. The replacement will be completed in 2022. As of the end of 2022, it has saved 4.45% of electricity consumption.
  • Clean cooling towers and chillers every year to improve equipment efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
  • The air conditioning temperature setting is adjected from 25 °C to 26 °C.
  • The shutdown time of Water Chiller is advanced from 09:00 PM to 08:40 PM.
  • Promote paperless operations and electronic management system.
  • In 2023, the water dispenser will add a timer to save power between 00:00-06:00.
  • Beginning in 2018, traditional split air-conditioners will gradually be replaced by power-saving inverter air conditioners.

Green Enterprise

    • Green Product refers to the function or concept of “recyclable, low pollution, and resource saving” in the process of raw material acquisition, product manufacturing, sales, use and waste treatment. The green design and green environment are our proposition. From concept, design to mass production, from savings, recycling to reuse. Protecting resources, protecting the environment, protecting our beautiful earth that we have passed down from generation to generation.
    • ELAN's green products refer to the following substances that constitute the components of ELAN's Green products and outsourced products: components (assemblies), auxiliary parts or materials, materials and spare parts used in the production process are in accordance with RoHS instructions. The full range of products are meet the requirements of RoHS, Sony GP, REACH, halogen-free, and provide customers with the guarantee of not using hazardous substances.
    • Compliance with EU RoHS rating is indicated by the following icon:

Compliance with Sony(SS-00259)rating is indicated by the following icon:

    • ELAN strictly abides by the customer's requirements for chemical substances. Therefore, the products are designed in accordance with the customer's specifications and international regulations (for example: Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) )) requires instructions for material selection and strictly requires the suppliers to limit or prohibit the use of harmful chemicals listed in the management list. In addition, Suppliers are also required to provide SDS safety data sheets, test reports of homogeneous materials, etc., for the internal verification unit of ELAN to carry out this material verification and acknowledge the operation of multiple check mechanisms, so as to ensure the safety of selected materials.
    • Packaging materials: such as Tray, pipe strip , carton and cushioning material, etc.
    • Scrapped products: According to different types, such as Wafer, Dice, Package, PCBA classification, they should be handed over to recycling manufacturers to refine and re-use gold wire, copper and other metals.
  • The creation and maintenance of green environment
    • Won the Special Award of Green Beautification of Hsinchu Science Park for 16 times.
